How are adaptive measures determined?

The choice of adaptive measures is based on the specific learning needs Access Service identified in the documentation you provide and also on information collected during your sessions with your Access Service specialist.

These are then compared to the particular demands of each course taken with consideration for course content, course work and labs, and methods of evaluation. Adaptive measures are put into place to facilitate your participation in academic life. They must be effective in enabling you to perform the essential requirements of a course or program.

From a broader perspective, adaptive measures are intended to provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all.

It is helpful for Access Service specialists to be fully aware of your learning history and your learning needs to date. Be as clear and as detailed as you can in your initial meetings.
