Would you like to connect with other students who are starting off at university, get sound advice from experienced students, familiarize yourself with the campus, life in residence and the city of Ottawa, or discover the keys to a successful university experience?
The Access Service invites you to join in on its Orientation Days,
from September 1st to 2nd , 2011.
This continuous event will be held on campus and lead up to the general welcome activities of u101. It aims to offer students with functional limitations a unique opportunity to learn about and take an active part in student life at the University of Ottawa in a chilled-out atmosphere. And it's free!
On schedule:
- a visit of the most relevant student services (Peer Help Centre, Learning Technologies Mentoring Centre, Financial Aid and Awards Service, etc.);
- welcome and social activities;
- workshops on transition strategies (self-advocacy, adaptive measures planning, relaxation techniques, etc.);
- a stay in residence;
- opportunities to meet student-mentors and learning specialists.
