Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts offers a wide array of undergraduate programs to help students acquire the theoretical and methodological training necessary to pursue professional or graduate studies or to be prepared for the workplace. The Faculty consists of three schools (the School of Information Studies, the School of Music and the School of Translation and Interpretation), three institutes (the Institute of Canadian Studies, the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute and the Institute for Science, Society and Policy) as well as 12 departments. The Faculty offers programs with a wide variety of courses that provide students with a solid education in a vibrant setting.
Undergraduate programs
General bachelor of arts program: The general BA program is geared towards students looking for a broad education. It allows them to explore several disciplines and concentrate on a specific field later on.
Disciplinary and multidisciplinary programs: These programs offer students the opportunity to develop an expertise in a specific discipline and respond to the need for specialization. In addition, most disciplinary or multidisciplinary programs require students to choose a minor after their first year of study, which allows students to explore another area of study based on their interests. Joint honours programs: These programs provide the opportunity for you to deepen your knowledge in two related or complementary disciplines and respond to the need for specialization on the one hand and versatility on the other. In order to set yourself apart in the labour market or for certain study options related to a complementary discipline, you may need to complete further studies related to this discipline.
