Faculty of Health Sciences
The Faculty of Health Sciences, spread over 5 geographic sites, offers a Nutrition sciences program and four schools: the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, the School of Human Kinetics, the School of Nursing and the School of Rehabilitation Sciences (graduate studies). The Faculty excels in its research endeavor thanks to the efforts of over 100 researchers working in a variety of disciplines - from molecular biology to metabolism, from human kinetics to social sciences of health. Innovative and dynamic, the Faculty of Health sciences is focused on the future.
Undergraduate program
Health sciences program: The honours bachelor in health sciences is an innovative interdisciplinary program that explores the fundamentals of health science as they apply to individuals and populations. The unique curriculum helps you understand the causes of disease, be they linked to biological, psychosocial or environmental factors. The following links provide career options by discipline.
Human kinetics program: The human kinetics programs emphasizes the biophysical and social factors of human kinetics and, as such, revolves around biomechanics, exercise physiology and psychomotor behaviour. At the same time, students will gain an understanding of the psychosocial aspects of human movement. The following links provide career options by discipline.
Nursing program: The nursing program prepares students to work effectively and competently in a variety of health settings, respond to a large range of health care needs and serve as an agent for change. Graduates will be critical thinkers, self-directed learners and practitioners who can work independently and interdependently to provide nursing care. Nutrition sciences program: The Baccalaureate in Nutrition Sciences from the Faculty of Health Sciences is currently awaiting accreditation from Dietitians of Canada. This unique program of study provides a stimulating learning environment and boasts enthusiastic professors who are actively involved in research.
