Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs in five departments: the Biology, the Chemistry, the Earth Sciences, the Mathematics and Statistics, and the Physics. The Faculty offers a number of programs, including general, disciplinary, multidisciplinary and joint honours programs. Over the years, the Faculty of Science has become a true centre of excellence, earning recognition across Canada and abroad for its prowess in the classrooms and the laboratories. Researchers within the Faculty are investigating some of the most significant and relevant scientific matters of our day.
Undergraduate programs
Science programs: The general BSc program is geared to students looking for a broad education. It allows them to explore several disciplines before specializing in a more specific field later on.
Disciplinary and multidisciplinary programs: These programs offer students the opportunity to develop an expertise in a specific discipline and respond to the need for specialization. In addition, most disciplinary or multidisciplinary programs require the students to choose a minor after their first year of study. The minor aims to explore another area of study according to the student’s interests. The following links provide career options by discipline.
- Biochemistry
- Biotechnology (Biochemistry / Chemical Engineering)
- Biology
- Biomedical Sciences
- Biopharmaceutical Sciences
- Chemistry
- Environmental Science
- Geology
- Geology / Physics
- Life Sciences
- Mathematics
- Ophthalmic Medical Technology
- Physical Geography
- Physics
- Physics / Mathematics
- Sciences et éducation*
- Statistics
Joint honours programs: These programs provide you with the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in two related or complementary disciplines and respond to the need for specialization on the one hand and versatility on the other. In order to set yourself apart in the labour market or for certain study options related to a complementary discipline, you may need to complete further studies related to this discipline. The following links provide career options by discipline.
Optional programs: These options can be added to a program to allow students to gain additional knowledge in their program and are offered within a main program of study. The following links provide career options by discipline.
