Graduate Students Orientation Week 2011

- IT’S YOURS!

Bidding you a hearty welcome

As the 2011-2012 academic year opens, the Student Academic Success Service (SASS), the Graduate Students’ Association (GSAÉD), the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (FGPS) and the Community Life Service (CLS) collectively wish you an excellent start to the year.

We’d also like to invite you to the annual graduate studies barbecue taking place on the front lawn of Tabaret Hall on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. This event is the perfect opportunity to meet professors, administrative staff and student representatives, as well as to get acquainted with the many programs and services available to you. Along with the barbecue, we’re hosting a number of information sessions dealing with common challenges and issues students face with graduate studies.

Furthermore, SASS encourages you to visit its Graduate Mentoring Centre. There, you will find student mentors with whom you can discuss your questions and concerns. They will guide you as you work to fine-tune your research techniques and writing skills throughout your studies.

Also, the GSAÉD encourages you to contact its main office for more information about services available to you as a graduate student.

Hoping to meet you in September,

Murray Sang, Director of SASS
GSAED Executive
Gary W. Slater, Dean of FGPS
Marc Duval, Director of CLS
