  9. Do you have someone who can help me with my assignment in … (Science, Engineering, Management, History, Education, or any other program)?
  10. Because we teach writing skills, our services are not specific to any faculty. The content of the paper is the student’s responsibility. We work with you on the structure of your paper, on an effective way to present your ideas and your argumentation, as well as on any grammar issues that you might have. For this reason, we are able to work with students on assignments for any faculty or program.

  11. I’m not finished my paper yet, or I haven’t been able to start. Is it still worthwhile to make an appointment?
  12. Absolutely. You do not need to bring a finished paper to your appointment. In fact, sometimes it is better to come in with your questions and concerns before you have completed the assignment. That way you can make sure to start on the right track. If you are having trouble getting started, a writing advisor can walk you through the essential pre-writing stages such as brainstorming and creating an outline.

  13. I have a specific question that won’t take a whole 45-minute appointment to answer. Is there a quicker, easier way to have it answered?
  14. Yes. We also answer specific questions by email.

  15. Can you correct my paper for me?
  16. No. We do not proofread or edit students’ papers. We are a teaching service and, as such, our goal is to teach you how to identify and correct your own errors, so you can become a better writer.

  17. How does the appointment service work? Do I leave my paper with you?
  18. Because of our focus on the learning process, your participation is essential. A writing advisor will look at your paper with you, and together you will identify problem areas. The advisor will then explain the nature of the problem so that the next time it occurs, you will be able to prevent it or correct it yourself. This collaborative approach is essential for effective teaching and learning.
